When evaluating cannabis usage, it’s crucial to rely on scientific knowledge rather than outdated social comparisons, particularly with alcohol. A recent study revealed no direct link between THC levels in the blood and driving impairment, challenging many current impaired driving laws. Unlike alcohol, (which people still have a hard time understanding) THC affects each person differently depending on factors like tolerance and method of consumption. These findings highlight the flaws in comparing cannabis to alcohol, which has long negatively influenced public perception and policy.
For too long, misconceptions have shaped cannabis laws, mostly rooted in stigma rather than science. As the study shows, equating cannabis with alcohol is inaccurate, and perpetuates outdated stereotypes. It’s time to move beyond these social preconceptions and embrace a more evidence-based approach to cannabis regulation.
Support research-driven cannabis policies, and advocate for laws that reflect the latest scientific understanding of cannabis effects. We must ALWAYS demand fairness and accuracy in cannabis regulation. FIGHT ON
